Twitter And Its ‘Rules’ Can Go Bite Me.
I have two Twitter accounts.
One I use rather sporadically. That may happen to be the account associated with this blog.
The other I use very frequently. That account is associated with my other blog.
‘They’ say that you shouldn’t tweet too frequently. Try not to tweet more than once an hour, or you’ll annoy people. Try to tweet somewhat regularly, or people will be bored. Try not to vent your personal problems, because people don’t like TMI. Don’t be too disgusting, because it is the public domain, and you don’t want people using it against you. Don’t link too often, because that’s annoying. Don’t follow too many people, or you’ll look like a try hard. Follow some, or you’ll look like a snob.
Well, nuts to all that.
If you are tweeting just to amass followers, go ahead and worry about all that bullshit. If you are tweeting because it’s fun, because you enjoy spouting off little 140 character snippets of awesomeness, do whatever the hell you like. If people don’t like it, there’s the unfollow button. I know I don’t get offended if someone unfollows me. I don’t get any money, accolades, or anything else for follows. I don’t actually WANT thousands of people following me – that would be weird. So why should I follow these imbecilic rules?
Poop on you and your rules, crazy know it all people, poop on you.
